Suppress motor noise on radio equipped Corvettes. .5 microfarads. Mostly useless, but looks nice for "originality"

would this capacitor be the reason my radio cuts out occassionally or should i check for a faulty ground somewhere? i just had my radio rebuilt 8 months ago. thanks.

No, it would not. There are also capacitors for the stoplight switch, park brake ground lead, ignition coil pos terminal to quiet all of their respective radio interferance signals.

If your radio "cuts out" then you should consult the person who serviced your radio. A very common problem is the output transistor, mounted on the radio's heat sink. becoming overheated. This is primarily due to a mismatched speaker of improper impedance value.

Is that a capacitor? I have a cylinder hanging on a bracket bolted to the blower motor, but it's wired inline to the hot lead to the motor. Wouldn't a capacitor be wired between hot and ground?

I've got an extra capacitor, brand new in th epackage, lying around that I didn't need. A new one came on my rebuilt blower motor. If you want it, figure $10 and I'll ship it to you.

Nope - for the heater blower motor application, the noise suppression capacitor is wired in series with the hot lead, as shown in the U69 section of the assembly manual.
