Steel Body Jig / Dolly - Anyone Interested
I will be building a fully adjustable, steel body jig w/ rotating wheels in order to do a frame off on my 66. The jig will be capable of handling coupes or convertibles and will be adjustable to handle any year vette.
If anyone is interested in purchasing a jig, please let me know and I will considering building 2 right away.

Will the jig be capable of rotating the body? I have looked at several different rotisserie type rigs and none of them can handle a vert. I have much work to do on the under body of my 65 and don't relish the thought of doing it lying on my back.

Here is a picture of the one we made for our square tube frame body dolly a couple of years ago. It is very stable and can be positioned for either side. It sure has been a back saver

ok...I will bite...how much? If you make it so that it bolts together, then all that would have to be done is to put the kits together and ship them out......I either get one of these or make a dolly or........I am in the process of getting ready to pull the '60 off the frame...not quite there at the rate I am going, BUT it is going to happen soon.....

Body Jig
I am in the process of compiling the material costs. Once completed, I will contact the interested individuals with an estimated price.
If you are interested, send me your e-mail address so I may send you a picture of my intended design.
I am unable to add a picture at this point in time - I know it takes the use of a seperate internet site, but I do not know the name of the site right now.

That is a great-looking device, yet seems simple in its design. I notice you had the front end removed, which is what concerns me. My front end is still attached to the car, and I worry about supporting it while the body is rolled to the side.
Are the legs that are resting on the ground reversible to roll the body in the opposite direction?
Thanks, Bob

We had thought of a few different approaches to making the tilter and came up with this one which is straight-forward and easy to make. The tilter arms slide into the tubing of the dolly and can be switched to tilt either side of the body dolly. Like the adjustable uprights on the dolly itself it is held in place by welded nuts and bolts.
At the time that picture was taken the front end was off the car but there is an adjustable support arm on the body dolly that mounts to the radiator support to support the front end which has worked very well.
