New Sting Ray based on Solstice/Sky platform?
The February Motor Trend has a drawing of what they think the v6 Stng Ray will look like. It's okay. I have sat in a Solstice, and it has good head and leg room, but I think the Sting Ray windshield is taller.
The new Corvette engineer is also the Solstice/Sky engineer - so IMO this should be a good one.

If this is indeed true (as in Chevy decides to go forward with a v6 car called the Sting Ray), I propose we form a posse and go and kick some butt. I understand that the Solstice/Sky platform is selling fairly well, but the idea of naming it Sting Ray is taking a major dump on the history of the Corvette just to gain some marketing points.
What's next? Dodge brings out a two-cylinder unicycle and call it a 'Cuda?

I wouldn't put ten cents on any future product rumor in Motor Trend; the Solstice is already sold out for this year (they're only making 7,000 of them) and next year, and the turbo/direct-injection version won't show up for another year.

It wouldn't be so bad if they give Mallett the Stingray name rights:
