You are replying to a 10+ year old thread.

If you are responding to it, you're too late.

If you have a new question, you'll get better response by starting a new thread.

I received a notice that I responded to a 10+year old post. That is true, but the information is still wrong. It bugs me when people hold themselves out as expert but just make up facts to suit themselves. They were not there and do not know. No one really knows what went on in the GM factories and what cars were produced in what configurations because of the COPO orders. You can get anything with lost documentation because back then we did not care. We only cared about winning races, not the nut and bolt inspectors that have come about rendering our old race cars trailer queens good for nothing but sitting in museums. At least get the facts that are documented correct and don't make it up as you go along.

Those were test mule cars. The 396 option on Chevelles, Impalas and vette wasent released until March of 65. A dealer might have known about it early on but who knows when they could be ordered and accepted by the central office.

Stumbled across this thread. I think you should review when the Z16 Chevelles were produced. Earlier than March.

Reviewing the date, this post is over 5 years old.
