Headers=YES Alternator=NO HELP
Since I added headers to my 64 vert my alternator had no place to go. I purchased the Mr Gasket F bracket that mounts to the headers along with another bracket that mounts to the alternator. You hook the two together and are supposed to have a working alternator. Brackets won't adjust enough to line up alternator belt groove with water pump pulley.
Anyone got a solution for me?

When you start modifing from stock ie headers you sometimes have to make more modifications. I would think that you could modify the brackets by slotting them more so that you can get the adjustment you need. Dave

If you can't rework that bracket asembly, and you have the mount holes on the front surface of the head where the alternator needs to mount, you might want to check out summitracing.com. Type in " zoops correctalign " in the search box at the top of the home page, scroll down the page, and click on the pictures for a detailed description of the mount position.
Pieces are polished billet aluminum. They're not cheap, ( $157.00 for the alt. bracket ) , but they allow 3/4" fore/aft adjustment for belt alignment. Available for long or short water pump applications, outboard drivers side or inboard pass. side mount.
BTW, read your post about your persistence in pursuing your dream , and finally hearing yes. I'm impressed.
Hope this can be of some help to you, and best wishes for your continued progress.

Needs to come forward about 3 inches. Slots won't allow sliding forward that much.

Alternator Bracket
I would advise not to use the bracket that bolts to the header. I have tried to use them multiple time over the years and they always break. Heat and vibration just doesn't prolong the life of these brackets.
