Steering wheel moves up and down
My 66 vert. I have replaced the upper bearing because it was worn and I thought that would fix the problem...but it did not. Any suggestions? There is nothing wrong with the steering itself, but I would like for it to be tight.

With my 1965, I found the tabs on the upper part of the tube, where it goes into the turn signal housing, broken off. Once I replaced the tube, my steering wheel no longer moved up and down.

Thanks Tom/99 and vet/66. I don't recall seeing any damage and I had it broken down to just before it connects to the dash.
I will take it apart again and inspect.
Any other possiblities?

Not sure if the 66 upper bearing mounts like a 67, but my replacement wasn't put in with epoxy or housing tapped for set screws and I had that conditon. I staked it in place with four set screws and the motion ceased.
