Paint Code Information on a 67?

Paint Code Information on a 67?
I looked at a 67 convertible today and the body code paint tag had a 974AA tag on it. I know the 974 is the red paint, but what does the AA mean?

Joe, I looked at my ncrs books and couldn't find what it meant, all they say is all 66 and 67 paint codes will have them after the code. i will continue to look, hope someone knows, you have my "wonder antenna" up. :confused:

Lt1Driver--All I have is Colvin's "Chevrolet by the Numbers" book and it doesn't mention the AA. Maybe there isn't anything unique meant by it. I didn't know it was at the end of all the 66 and 67 cars. I will check the 66 and see. Thanks for the note.

This is on all of the codes for these years of the corvette actually. The code means that the upper color is also on the lower. Does that make sense? A is the upper B is the lower. A code with an A and another with a B would mean a two tone.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the AA is for the interior color and material. I don't have my Nolan Adams book handy but I know it's in there.
