C2 -Windshield Install
Is there a rubber strip around the windshield of a C2 Convertible or does it just sit on the clips and then caulk around it? I think I remember seeing this int he service manual as I described, but can't remember and I'm getting ready to order the clips I need.

My 67 is in the glass shop right now for a new windshield. Yes there is a rubber seal and a bunch of different clips. 11 across the front bottom and different ones on the sides. Get the diagram out of an Assembly Manual. The non-original LOF windshield was only $219 verses $600-700 for a dated look alike fake. All I want to do is see better and the original one was "frosted" from age, sand, etc.

Mine was there already and in good shape. I looked in the Long Island Corvette Catalogue and have the "Roadster Windshield Weathertrip", part 42 09, for $42.00.
I just went by and checked on my car. The shop had the old windshield (and rubber) out, the new clips installed. They had a coat of water-sealer on the frame drying.
Later they were going to put the new glass in the old rubber, coated with an adhesive, then on with the stainless steel moldings (which I had taken home to polish on my buffing wheel).
I am keeping the old windshield, since it has the right dates, codes, etc. I may try to polish out the pits this winter if things get boring or I can't find a new job (old position eliminated after 32 years with the company).

I put a gasket from Long Island Corvette on my 63 at the start of the summer and it was a nice part, no issues. I thought the job would be much harder.
