C2 Fuelie won't start??
My '64 327FI won't start. It kick's over and runs for about 5 seconds and shuts down. It seems to be fuel starved. I've checked the pump drive cable, and for ruptured control and enrichment diaphrams.
Can it be a defective enrichment solenoid? But doesn't that work just during cranking/initial start-up?
Any helpfull suggestions?
Thanks,
Matt

Check to see if you have spark to the plugs first.
Then, take off one of the lines to a nozzle. Have somebody crank the car. See if gas is squirting out.
If not, I'd check to see if the drive cable has one or both of the square ends rounded off, not turning the pump. I've had that happen a time or two.

I agree with Chuck and Bill. Pump cable may be rounded off. Your engine is probably starting and running from the squirt of fuel the fuel enrichment solenoid is putting in there when you engage the starter. When that's gone, the engine dies and gets another shot when you engage the starter again.
A question though. How did it run before this happened?
I also agree it'd be a good idea to check for spark.

Thanks for all the help guys. I've got spark and fuel from the primary pump. But it does look as though the pump end of the drive cable is a bit rounded. The distributor end looks sharper. I'll replace it anyway and go from there.
