Default NCRS? - Watch out for this one

Just saw a that Goat Hill Classics is using the letters NCRS as his company name.
He is now calling himself:
"National Chevrolet Restoration Service" (NCRS)

That is a great idea,
I think I am going to open a company called Iron Box makers.
I will just call my new company "IBM" - do you think they will mind?

Here is his disclamer:
GOAT HILL CLASSICS

**Nationwide Chevrolet Reproduction Service along with these E-bay listings is dedicated to the Preservation of Original Chevrolet V-8 Engine equipted Camaro, Chevelle, Chevrolet, Corvette, and Nova automobiles by supplying quality Reproduction and Original Engine parts. Goat Hill Classics, NCRS_Pieces, and NCRS.On.Ebay@gmail.com are not affiliated with the organization NCRS(National Corvette Restoration Society) in any way. Goat Hill Classics, NCRS_Pieces, and NCRS.On.Ebay@gmail.com manufacture, reproduce, rebuild and sell parts for classic Chevrolet cars whose owners may or may not be rebuilding said cars to NCRS(National Corvette Restoration Society) specifications or for NCRS(National Corvette Restoration Society) judging.** "

well, the REAL NCRS should police their name carefully, and have a lawyer's letter sent to Goat Hill, who are a big advertiser in NCRS publications, however

I would imagine the real NCRS has adequate copyright protection.

you have to "police" your name - there is no "trademark infringement policeforce" aside from the true owners of the mark sending cease and desist notices, and allowing it to continue "chips away" at the value of the mark and leads to confusion in the mind of the consumer

You would think he would know that it's the National Corvette RESTORERS Society, not the National Corvette Restoration Society.

It's pretty bad when you can't even plagiarize correctly. Chuck

There is NO good reason for them to use that name. In my opinion it says something about the character of the company in general and I will not buy from them.

Goat Hill does not have the best rep to begin with. The only thing he can change to improve it is the way he does business. Simply changing the name will not help him.

Goat Hill has constantly screwed customers over for years. This is well documented and has even been posted on the NCRS forum quite a few times.

Why does NCRS continue to accept advertising money from this company ?

Surely given Goat Hills past actions this new venture shouldn't come as any great surprise to the NCRS.

Maybe for enough advertising money the NCRS might even jump on board with Goat Hill.
