'67 Vette 435hp. 427 Value
For the past 25 years I have had what I believed to be a '67 435 hp. 427. Was going to put it in several non Vette projects but never got around to it. Now I have a nice '57 Chevy 150 that it would be fun to put it in but maybe it is worth more to a Vette kinda guy than I. Here's some block and head numbers, need to know what a fair value would be as it may end up here on the ckassifieds or E-bay. This is just a long block, no exhaust, manifolds, no try power, no pan, no timeing cover, JUST A LONG BLOCK! It was freash 25 years ago and has bin in storage in my shop ever since. Thanks,Lon
ps, I am still looking for a project '57-'67 Vette that I could build for the street, dosn't have to be fancy! Could work this motor into a trade cash thing.
Back of block casting # 3904351
Block pad T0906 JE rs 7100985
Block casting date could be 9 21 H or if you stand on your head it's H 15 6
Head both are 3904391 cast date's C 14 7 & C 15 7

Heads $5,000 to $6,000
Block $4,000 to $5,000
The heads are not original to the block. (8 months apart)
Block: August 15, 1966 Heads: March 14, & 15 1967.
Block assembled September 6, 1966. Yes "JE" is 435hp.
I assume it is a 4 bolt main.
The heads will easily sell for $5,000 maybe more.
This will get you close.

The heads are really scarce especially date codes that close.
Here is a set that sold on e-bay out of Canada (more fees to get them out). $4,500
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...7302&rd=1&rd=1
One is a July 21, 1966 and the other is a February 15, 1967.
Yours are more valuable.

Those heads are a hole lot more presentable than mine, but I assume any one buying a set for their '67 project would tear them down before install anyway no matter how nice they looked. I have about 8 more sets of BB heads off various motors over the years, I better check them out also. I know non of them are HIPO heads but still might be worth something to someone! Thanks Again, Lon

The value is in the numbers. Nothing else.
Bare would be better. That way you can keep the parts and they don't think they are buying something they don't need.

After we found the build sheet in '91 I piecemealed a 427 together for a reasonable facimile, 454 truck block, '69 pass car heads, steel crank, good rods etc.
