Enjoy the specs submitted by Chevy. Just dont try to build your own 327/340,350,365, or 375 hp or 350 motor with the listed .002 deck and .018 compressed gasket or you will have 8 pistons with smashed top ring lands. The motor requires a minimum of .035 -.040 quench area {gasket thickness + deck}. No engine builder will build you a motor to those specs either. Having run small block Camaros {Z/28} in stock eliminator for years I would advise the higher .040 number for a street engine. The .035 will leave the top of the piston & cylinder head absolutely carbon less, thus the higher number for carbon buildup. Just some advise, Im no no it all but Ive seen a lot of motors destroyed built to factory specs by new racers & engine builders.

I should also mention that there are superceded parts like intakes & blocks and in some cases heads listed that while legal to run in NHRA stock eliminator on that motor are not correct for the car, as well as the OEM part numbers. In other words, its a drag racing class engine guide not a restoration site.
