Default Lube for the shift linkage - what's best

What lube seems to work the best for a manual transmission linkage at the level of the shifter and at the level of the linkage to the transmission?

I use white lithium spray lube. It stays on and keeps things slick for years. Same thing for hood hinges latches and doors.

If I remember the manual call for moly lub, that is what I used, after a year it hasn't dried out but I do check it when the car is off the ground.
