Default Aluminum radiator/13 pound cap?

In switching to an aluminum DeWitts radiator in a '58, should I switch the 7 pound cap to a 13? Will this avoid leaking?

The higher the pressure the higher the boiling point. I would think a 7 lb cap would pop off too easy. I'm thinking you should have an 18 or 22, but could be wrong.. Maybe someone else will chime in. What does Dewitt's recommend ?

Im going to have to contact DeWitts and see what they say. The 2 original design caps for solid axles are 7 and 13 pounds, and Im trying to keep it close to stock looking. I cant put one of those nasty AutoZone looking things on there.

Beginning in the1960 model year cars with aluminum radiators used a 13# cap. Previous model year Corvettes used a copper radiator and had a 7# cap.
