I am still trying to find a way to link all these pics to one page but I am not able to do it from where I have them stored on Photobucket. Hopefully I will be able to find a site for documentation of pics and the story as we go along. If anyone has suggestions please feel free to let me know. Wanting to do this like Stingray 1967 is doing his rebuild documentation for all to see.
PS Awesum car!!!

BUMP BACK TO THE TOP.....
Finally we are back to the car. Worked on it for a while then time off about a year for some health issues with my dad. He is fine and back working on the car now as well.
Been away from the forum for awhile and most of you here will probably remember this thread. The car is coming along amazingly well. Body is on the frame now.
All the restored parts are back especially the original electrical componets....yes they are all the original ones.
A very special thank you to the late John Pirkle. My you rest in peace. You were a GREAT person and I am so glad to have met him at Carlisle.
I did the dash pad myself. First time for everything I guess. Was very time consuming to do right. Guages were sent off and redone...partly. The speedo bezel was rechromed. The guages were cleaned and redone inside with just the outside cases being cleaned. Still have the original dates stamped on them. The speedo glass was polished. The small pod lenses replaced. All guage faces were left as original since the shape was excellent on them with no fading. Odometer was left as it was when the car came to us and not rolled back to zero.
Every nut, bolt and componet that came off this car has been restored and replated to original color and condition as well as any gaskets that were still good such as the cork taillamp gaskets, the steering column rubber and courtesy light switches and gaskets as well as the brake stop switch were restored and used. Want to keep this car as original as we can since it is fully documented and I personally am not a fan of some repro stuff. They just do not fit right sometimes....so I am not a big fan.
Well as for the rest I will let the pictures tell the story...ENJOY!!!

Used the original off the car for underneath the windshield. I was in perfect condition with no cracks. A short soak in lacquer thinner and then a little cleaning and it was as flexible as new rubber and back to very clean black. This will work with any of your old rubber pieces as long as they are in good condition. I did this on the steering column rubber as well as the splash seals around the radiator. The repros just do not have the same shape and size.
The one around the glass was an unused original a friend of mine had and sold it to me.

Very good job looks fantastic. Showing the stages of disassembly and restoration just pumps me up, hoping it influences others in the hobby to go the extra mile. Many may think they can’t tackle a body off, but your photos inspire many. A breath of fresh air restoring a piece of history the way it was meant to be.......... Congratulations looking forward to see her completed. Priceless!

Just thought I would post a few more earlier random pics that were snapped while I was away from the forum. As you can see the body was never hit and had no separation or cracks anywhere.
Yes the engine was that dirty but all there...every piece original even the air cleaner in great shape except it had been cut so the filter could be replaced.
Original stamp pad after cleaning of the engine block. No decking here. Just a good honing out.
