Default Crane Electronic ignition modules

Has anyone installed one of the Crane optical sensor ignition modules ? One that fits in your stock distributor and replaces your points. It is supposed to have a rev limiter and can be installed without pulling the distributor. I used a Pertronix unit in the past and it was reliable but harder to install, shimmimng, etc. and did not have a rev limiter. I have heard of reliability issues with optical units. Anyone have any experience with the Crane part.

I believe DZVETTE has one, if you want to PM his email.

I seem to remember the rev limiter adjusts in thousands of rpm only - not sure about that.

PS: After I made slots out of the mounting holes, I am able to install the Pertronix with the BB chrome shield in place.

I've had the Crane (forgot model #) in my sbc for a few years now with no issues at all. It replaces the points under the cap but it does have an external box also. Don't believe there's a rev limiter in my system.

i have one, i think it's called the XR-I or something like that. install is about as simple as it gets the revlimiter actually works and it was under $100.
