1967 Ignition Lock - Question
Are there any markings on a 1967 corvette ignition lock, or where the ignitions interchangable between models? Does a 1967 corvette ignition lock look different from other model years? Thanks

What ignition lock? I thought that the 67 column was the same as earlier years with the exception that the signal flasher button was added. Am I incorrect here?

Steve,
The 67 column is a unique beast, and they will bring a ton of money.
This was the first year for collapsible columns, and the column is completely different from earlier years. Not sure what this has to do with the ignition switch, but...........

Starting in '66, you have to push the key in to turn it to the "Accessory" position (at least you did when it was new).

I would say that it's probably different. If a 67 has it's own switch, then it also should have it's own cylinder and key. I just went through a similiar problem with my 63. The car had a 65 cluster. When I replaced the harness with a 63 harness, I had to replace the ingintion switch because it didn't match the harness. The new switch fit perfectly, but the old cylinder(65) wouldn't fit. Hope that helps.

I do not know if it differs from other years but here is a 1967 switch for people to compare to their own. There was talk in another thread about the locking slots in 1963 and 1965 being at different positions (1 and 5 o'clock). This switch seems to have three slots?

65, 66 and 67 look similar but the 65 is different. 66 & 67s are interchangeable. The casting number (on the housing) is 673 for the 66 and 686 for the 67.
