I would have considered buying, but they peeled the flower decal off the backside of the hood, rendering it worthless............

I can't believe there were NO bids on that...If I would have seen that before it went off I would have snapped that right up....NOT. There was another one on there last week that I think bid up to like $4500 or so.

This guy Rockcrusher is a piece of work. You have to wonder if he sells anything. And who says that hood is from any L88 car. Anyone could buy it over the counter or just buy the air box and glue it in any 67 BB hood.

According to his book, when Car and Driver's Don Sherman restored his 67 427/435 roadster (himself), he elected to restore it as an L88. He purchased the underhood fiberglass piece which holds the air cleaner, opened up the back of the scoop, and viola, a "new" 67 L88!

seems to be a violation of forum rules now to link to an ebay listing, note that Super Dave deleted the link from the orig post above.

if you want to see it, it was a rockcrusher67 lisitng, you can search on him, use "completed listings" though since this one ended with no sale.

The link was posted in the beginning of this thread for quite awhile. I just went to take a look and the moderator Master Dave recently took the link out of the thread because it was an Ebay link. I don't understand why since I wasn't trying to sell anything. I just wanted to let everyone know about the rediculous price someone was asking for the L-88 hood listed on Ebay.

Ya..I don't get the whole moderators removing something that is just up for discussion. I totally understand why they don't allow eBay links for sellers trying to drum up business but I think it kind of defeats the entire purpose of a forum when we can't link to something where someone wants to just discuss something about an item. If there is a forum member that would like our input on a car or part listed on eBay I think we should be able to post a link in order to receive the feedback we are asking for.

Can you please post the Ebay item number?

BTW - Maroon is my second most favorite color on a Midyear.
