Howards Corvettes in Mesa, AZ is very good. However, they are not cheap.

What do you mean by mechanical?

Engine/drivetrain repair? Restoration, frame off type stuff?
Body work/paint?

Visit Classic Performance Restorations in Mesa (260 S. Alma School, suite 123 - way in the back). I stopped by to look at a Vintage Air installation, and it turned into a big love-fest.

If they don't do it, I'll bet they will provide good info about who will.

CaveCreekChump,

We just bought a 2nd place Across from Desert Mtn. off 98th & Cave Creek. I've seen a couple mid-years driving around in the area, maybe one of them was yours (a yellow 67 convertible, and a 63 red split window).

I thought about shipping my 63 down there, but bought a new 07 ZO6 instead.

Take care.

Nice area, Overbudget! Nice ride, too.

My second place is near Spur Cross & Cave Creek Rd., but sadly, our '65 roadster will stay in Illinois until I can make the move permanent. This fall I plan to drive out in my '67 GTO, which will take up residence there. Look for silver with a black vinyl top & Illinois Route 66 tags.

When I can, I'll be driving the Corvette out. I LOVE driving on Route 66, or what's left of it.

I second the vote for Howard's Corvette's - He will do you right!

OVERBUDGET: Look me up when you are down here - I used to live in Happy Valley just over the hill from Boring! I have a 66 L79 roadster (Red/Black) - lets get together and catch up! Ron

The Vette Shop at McLintock and University in Tempe. Just had a complete mechanical resto done there... Ken Carollo is the guy...

There are always 6 or 7 C2 cars in there being resto'd and he does not do the new cars at all..

Send me a PM and I will show you my car and you can judge...

If you are referring to Howard Goering, great guy. He had a "Howard's Corvettes" here in his home town of Sioux Falls SD, for many many years. You don't last long here if you are a fraud or do shotty work. He has been in the business for years. I can't speak for his employee's but if I know Howard, he probably is not far from the shop.

Sorry, I visited them in February or March and slid past a bunch of covered cars to get to the mid-year I was there to look at.

They were installing the new lift in the main part of the shop on that day, whenever it was.

Seemed like great guys that love what they are doing. I hope they do well.

If you are looking for a GREAT body and paint guy in the Phoenix area. I have had some exceptional work done by a guy named Shaun Saunders. He has worked on everything from Lotus to Lambos with 30 years of experience.
