Default overflow antifreeze from radiator

ok guys

i have a little bit of puking of antifreeze dripping on to my garage floor.

not a lot but probably about 3 or 4 drips about the size of a dime.

i run dexcool antifreeze which is a orange color. the drips are just to
the right of my oil pan so i assume it is dripping from my overflow tank?

here is the problem. when i take my finger and feel these drips they
do not feel like antifreeze? they feel like oil? what i dont understand
is it cant be oil because it is orange in color? the only thing i know
is this orange color is my dexcool antifreeze. but i think i know what
antifreeze looks like and feels like? my question is what else could
this be if it is not my orange dexcool antifreeze? my power steering
fluid is not orange and my motor oil is not orange. this has really got
me baffled? thank for any help with what these orange drips might be?

Not sure why you want to run dexacool in a C2 but is your coolant level dropping when checked on a cold engine?

Did you try looking for the source of the drip by getting under the car?

Is your expansion tank half full? Dex cool is red. It might turn orange if mixed with oil

Could it be one of your freeze plugs is dripping and as it's dripping down the side of the block it's picking up some oil and that is why it feels like oil?

Dexcool is bad stuff, in my experience. Cars that use it seem to have a disproportionate amount of corrosion, erosion, and gasket damage issues. Drain it out and install normal green antifreeze. Your car will thank you.

That may well be the case, but Dex-cool does not adequately protect lead solder joints (i.e. heater core). It also does not do as well in older cars compared to a brand new car for overall corrosion and system protection.

The best for our old cars is Zerex G-05...... or Prestone in the bright yellow bottle.

I agree with Larry, the G-05 is what I use in both of my old Corvettes. My experience with it is that it will find a leak and let you know because it does not contain the salts or whatever is in the older green antifreeze. With the cost of a new radiator IMO, I think it's good to use the best product on the market no matter what brand name you buy it under.
I
f i understand correctly, the factory used pellets in all the coolant systems just for this reason so that may explain why the seeping is present with so many possible leak points.
