Default 1967 L-88 corvette vin numbers

Hi does anyone know where I can find the twenty L-88 production vin numbers that were made in 1967? I am looking to verify it to a block from a car that I am in the process of buying to see if it is authentic.
any help would be appreciated.

I don't know if the VINs are available to authenticate the L-88s. They are generally considered to be a late production car so a real early car wouldn't be a candidate. Seems that I remember hearing or reading that production started in March or April.

Out of the 20 that were produced only 40 or so are still known to exist.

well . . .

Someone maintains a sort of secret list of the known L88s - and Mitch (click his user name, then click previous posts) might just be in touch with such a list . . . .

I don't think the list gets "published" and I am glad it doesn't (I think that would lead to misbehavior) but if you have a VIN perhaps Mitch is suggesting that he could see if it is on the "known L88" list . . . .

Default vins

I was wondering such a thing as I have searched the web and found no L-88 vin's available. Has anyone ever try and contact Chevrolet direct and e-mail them a pic of the motor numbers or is NCRS a better route to go.

I should have stated that a readily available list of VINs for the L-88 cars isn't available but I'm sure there are people that have that information. Since Mitch has an L-88 and a Kevin McKay connection I'm betting he has some inside information about the cars.

The VIN's are known and will remain unpublished.

Hi

A little off topic

Back in the day I was looking to buy a 69 Chevelle SS from a service manager who had put an L88 in his loaded automatic chevelle with a 4:56 gear. He was a couple years older than the rest of us and I never heard of him taking the car to the strip. However he did do a lot of "nighttime freeway quarters" with the guys who ran low 12's and he had no problem beating them.

I never did get the car and he got killed when a cop with no flashers or siren ran a red light and T-boned him while he was driving his daily driver doing the speed limit........... go figure

Sure was a nice car though, No AC but it had everything else.

Doug

The block will have the suffix "IT" as part of the pad information. Without this ID, it`s not at least a real L88 engine. So take it from there....

Pad information is created and for sale right next to the build sheet shop........... but I suppose considering the price of a L88 a fairly decent casting can also be bought.

Chevrolet will have nothing - zero, zilch, nada; Mitch is your best contact.
