Default Engine Casting # Help

Folks:
I have a 350 and the rear casting number is 3970040 or 3970010 it's difficult to read. On the front pad it reads V0407CMB. Does any one know what this is? A casting date indicates it could be a 1975 motor.
I appreciate any help you can give me.

Block 3970010 used on 350 CI corvette from 1970 thru 1979, also used on camaros. CMB engine suffix is from 1972 and 1975 camaro 350 CI engines. Looks like you have a 1975 camaro 350 CI block in the car manufactured in the Flint engine plant on April 7. You will need to look at the casting date for the block to figure out if it is 1975.

The 3970010 block had a LONG production life - about seven million of them were cast from 1969-1979, and they were used in all applications - car, truck, Corvette, marine, industrial, etc. 27,000 of them became 302's, and all the rest were 350's.

OK, that accounts for 27,000 69 DZ blocks castings, what about the other 302?

Actually, 20,000 were DZ's ('69); the other 7,000 were "MO" ('67-'68).
