If you have, or plan to soon receive Ken Kayser's new book on the History of FI, take a look.
Check the information on pgs 366-372 (particularly 57 VIN E57S103963). This is a significant car in the history of very early days of 57 racing Vettes.
I took the below pictures BEFORE receiving Ken's book. That car is very much alive and well, right here in Okla America. I knew (bcause John told me) that this car had an extensive, documented, SCCA racing history, but I didn't fully appreciate its significance!!!
Its always nice to know and see that historically significant cars are alive and well and have a very good home.

Race History for #3963
Appears to be the first 57 Corvette with RPO 684 and also the most successful 57 Corvette in SCCA B/P in 1957. Driver drove car from factory and raced at Cumberland Nationals three days later with windscreen and roll bar. Car was running third behind Dick Thompson (factory driver) and Caroll Shelby (Sebring car) and lost throttle linkage.
Ad from Feb '59 Corvette Courier. Includes picture from '57 of Bob Rosenthal sitting on fender of #3963.
Picture from June 2007 of Bob Rosenthal sitting on fender of #3963.

Drifting
Saw this beauty at the Virginia International Raceway 50th Anniversary Gold Cup event this past June. The car is astounding and certainly is a good ambassador to those folks who never got a chance to witness the fifties racers.
As an aside, the Jaguar that my cousin (Walt Hansgen) raced (D-type) was just a few cars down from where the Corvettes were displayed.
Walt also raced some fifties and sixties Corvettes too. Got to meet Dr. Dick Thompson and Carol Shelby at this event and had a really good time during my visit.
Regards,
Fred
