Default ZZ4 coming together (pics)

After a few weeks delay (Stent in heart) I'm finally got back to test fitting all the parts on the New ZZ4 Long Block. So far everything has bolted right up, as everyone said it would BUT being from Missouri you got to "SHOW-ME". So all my shielding, chrome bracket, etc will transfer from 327 to ZZ4. I did have to get adaptors for the valve covers. Also did a little grinding on exhaust manifolds to mate up with D-Port exhaust.

Got a ways to go before the install, lots of clean up. Plus new upper control arms, sway bar, steering box rebuild, ???

looking really FINE!

if it was me, I would go over the edge, usually do, but I would get the manifold polished and even the heads (since they are aluminum)....but then again, I was never known to do things in moderation!

Are you running a big block hood with that carb setup? Looks like it will be close. Certainly an impressive looking motor.

Nice looking motor. I was wondering if the stock heads and manifold from my L79 would bolt up to the zz4. Would that even be a good move? Exactly what did you have to do to make the manifolds work?

Very nice!

Two questions, 1- with stamped rocker arms why the spacer under the valve covers unless your going to roller rockers & 2- tell me more about the Camaro T5 speed? What, if any, modifications to the trans tunnel do you have to make and what year Camaro did it come out of? (Ok that's actually 3 questions)

George your motor is looking great.

How are you going to address the crank case ventilation with the closed valve covers?
Just a note I tried the adapters for the old valve covers on my TPI with center bolt heads and had a problem getting them to seal, just something to look for.
Love the dual 4s.

I'm pretty sure the spacer is the adapter for the valve covers. The heads are center bolt style and he's using the older style valve covers.

If you look in the picture you can see he's put a breather/fill tube in the intake.

Very nice work....!!!

Very nice work....!!!
I see the breather tube but what goes in must come out so I am wondering where the other inlet is going to be for the PVC. Late model engines don't have a provision except through the valve covers that I know of.

Herb I would not have known you would go over the edge

However, I have a NEW POLISHED Dual Four manifold to replace the one in the pic. I didn't think I would need until I mounted the dull cast and immediatly knew I need a little more

Actually it is a little lower the stock 365HP air cleaner. Other are running same setup under SB hood. But I also have a BB hood thats needs painting that I may or not use someday.

(1) They are adaptors for Using old style valve covers on newer center mount heads.

(2) T5 is from a 1986 Camero

(3) Haven't installed yet but others have install with no mods to tunnel

Adapted an old cracked valve cover to have clean air INPUT at rear. Here is pics of the mock up. Still needs work on clamp and new bracket for small K&N filter. When all fitted I will modify the Chrome Valve Cover. EXIT side is through oil breather tube through PCV valve into bottom of front carb.

Looks like your breather set up should work, hope you can control the oil splash.
