Can I use this antifreeze in my 67?
I have two gallons of Zerex antifreeze-coolant, "G-05 phosphate free formula" that advertises 5-year, 50K miles protection. Can I use this in my 67 or should I go out and get some old-fashioned antifreeze? I suspect that this stuff is too modern for my old Sting Ray.

That is what I put in my new virgin motor.
If you use it, make sure you get rid of all the old stuff in the block, do a good flush.
As a side note, it tastes awful. I ususlly do a finger dab/tounge tip test to see if a fluid puddle under my car is antifreeze or just water from maybe a recent wash, (I don't have cats in the garage, BTW) regular ethylene glycol is sweet, the G05 at first has sort of mildly sweet taste, but then turns into an awful gut wrenchng after taste that is hard to get rid of.

I would use the older conventional green antifreeze as GM called for in your car. G-05 is used in the later model Chrysler, Ford and Mercedes vehicles as Dex-Cool is used in the later GM vehicles from '94 on. Zerex/Valvoline say's to use what the manufacturer recommended. I still use the Green conventional anti-freeze in all my older vehicles and collector cars although I sell G-05 and Dex/Cool along with the old style Green Anti-freeze in my auto parts business. If you like the Zerex product Zerex has a Conventional Anti-Freeze guaranteed for 5 years/100,000 miles. Here is some info I happen to have on hand from Zerex.
