Very nice.. I'd actually like to have a copy of that if they are for
sale...
Possibly a local Mobil promotion to increase dealer traffic?? The
station is all dressed up with flags... with the race/vettes out front..
beautiful picture...
Banner in the picture says the race is on July 4th...cool little
time capsule..

See the second car back, the white number 69. It was driven at the pikes peak hill climb in 1960 by Al Daniels and took third place in the unlimited sports car class. It was a solid white 1960 corvette with the 290 hp fuel injected engine, 4-speed and a 4:11 rear end. The car was produced at the plant on approximately May 27, 1960. I have a large print of this picture. The car suffered a fuel injection fire in 1973 after being driven very little (less than 1000 miles) over the prior ten years. In 1998, after being stored in an ammunition plant bunker for 25 years, I purchased it and hope to have it restored for it's 50th birthday in 2010.

I have never been to the Carlisle meet, but sure hope to make it there someday. The fuel injection was restored by Jerry Bramlett this past year and the body should be going back to the bodyman for final work and paint later this year. Lots of little things to do yet, but it is showing progress! Thanks to all of the forum members who have helped me to get to this point!
