Which engine? 390/400 hp or 435? With the 435, you may need to adjust your timing map to be able to run this on premium without any racing gas added in.

On my 427/400 w/ 10:1, I run 36 degrees total timing. It runs fine on high test pump gas. See articles by Lars in FAQ's on timing, advance curves, and vacuum source.

For several years, I've been running 93 octane in one of my other cars, a big block from a competing car manufacturer, and I only get an occasional, very small bit of run-on when shutting down the old side-oiler.
I don't recall the compression ratio, but when the engine was rebuilt in the early '90's, it pulled somewhere north of 485 HP just before reinstallation.
I used to mix 110 octane, leaded CAM II with pump gas for this engine back in the '80's, but since my source "dried up" in about 1990, I've just relied on 93 unleaded since with satisfactory results.
If I could again find a convenient source for CAM II leaded, I might add a few gallons now and then, if only to get a bit of lead.

I assume you are talking about the Turbo Blue unleaded? It is basically 100 octane unleaded gasoline. Nothing special or magical about it beyond that. I do not think you need it in a regular 427/435 car unless you have the ignition map all jacked up. Even if it is jacked, you would not need more than 3-4 gallons of 100 octane splashed in with your regular premium gasoline. But as I said, you should not need it if everything is dialed in right.
