66 coupe did NOT have it (the piece on the A-pillar), unless there were some early or late production cars that got it?

In 66 all of the weatherstrip was attached to the door, except the piece where the door meets the roof.

Your car may have been redone at some point and had it added??

I was just looking at my assembly manual and it show's the pillar weatherstrip for late 66. Is it possible that the V.I.N #18000 (dated feb 66) and up had the pillar strip?

Thanks for the reply.
"unless there were some early or late production cars that got it". Has to be.....It seems that my 66 is very original.

My 66 coupe is a low 21,000 VIN. It does not have the pillar piece. But I recall that both 65 and 67 did have it, so it is still possible for later production I suppose..

If you just plan to drive and enjoy the car, I don't suppose it makes much difference..

Most '66 coupes didn't have them - if yours doesn't, no need to add them unless you want to improve the sealing.

Hello John,
Thank you for the information about the Pillar Stripping. I knew I could rely on you for the answer.

My 66 Coupe has it - it could have been installed when painted in the late 70s - can't be sure one way or the other.
