Intake Manifold Height

Intake Manifold Height
I have the L76 aluminum intake manifold height as: 3.75" front, and 4.75 rear.
What are the corresponding heights of a LT1/Z28 intake?
My hood is in the paint shop, so I need an answer to the following question:
What is the clearance under a smallblock hood for a stock L76 intake, 2818 carb, and stock air cleaner.
How much clearance will be left (if any) if I replace the 461 stock manifold with a Z28 (3972116), with stock 2818 carb and air cleaner?
Thanks in advance.

if its a 327 block you will have to reconfigure the PCV. it the L79 intake would would be a good choice

I have a 66 and with the L79 intake, Holley, and stock 66 air cleaner, (which is different than yours if you are using the stock 65 air cleaner) I have about 1/2" to 3/4" clearance with the hood.

Not sure what the height difference is in your carb and a Holley, but I have a 116 manifold and Holley 4777 650Double Pumper on my 63 with stock hood. Very little clearance, but it fits using a 66-67 style air cleaner w/ Fram A212 Air filter. I'd fit it on your car, as body mounts, motor mounts all factor it (again, its REAL close).

That's a lot like what I want to do. My carb is a stock Holley 2818, 585CFM single feed, model 4150. I'm running a 30-30 cam, and I'm looking to go with a 750 CFM Holley dual feed with vac secondaries. I just bought a 116 intake. I should have my hood back by early June.
Do you know if the dimensions of a 750 vac secondary are same as your 4777?
What do you use your car for, with that big cam in it? Not street, right? Your rear gear is 4.56 or higher?

I read about a trick to see if the air cleaner is a good fit.
Place some silly putty or something similar at different locations on the top surface of the air cleaner. Close the hood and determine if there are indications of the hood hitting the putty. This should give you a clear picture of what's going on.
