Yes, it's just sitting there loose like that, coming from one of the terminals, I think the negative (closest to engine).

I'm not an expert.

I'm not aware of any 65 corvette configuration that had that yellow wire from the factory.

Again, I'm not an expert on the subject. My own 65 is a factory A/C car, so the battery and battery cables are different than what would be on your car anyway, but they don't have a yellow wire. I think that may be a battery cable off of another car. I've got a 72 Buick that has a wire like that, and in that car it's a ground wire that is screwed to the fender.

It probably just a generic auto supply store battery cable with an extra wire lead, very common.

p.s. 62Jeff....it's two oclock in the morning. What the heck are doing up this late? Mix some Jim Beam with your Dr. Pepper and get some sleep.

I hope you know that was supposed to be funny.

Just in case......

Pot - meet Mr. Kettle

Yeah yeah yeah, it's only 1 am where I live. I'm impressed you remember my Dr. Pepper habit.

I hope you know that was supposed to be funny.
Of course

I just inspected the battery again and I'm learning to be a little more thorough when I check stuff. The battery has a black wire coming from hot and yellow fron neg., both with that yellow thingy at the end. Yes, it's probably a generic cable with extra leads. Thought it may be usefule later like for an alarm or something. Thanks guys. Now get some sleep. It's 11:11 p.m. here in Kalifornia so I've still got some time left. Goodnite.

I have a 65 non A/C coupe. Neither of my battery cables have the extra wire you mention.
