Krash, I saw this on the HAMB. Good thing your dad put this car aside. Hopefully someone will come forth with some information and especially some pics of how it looked when it ran. There were a bunch of 56/57s that were drag raced but finding examples today in their original patina is a tough proposition. It looks like it is incomplete enough that the best course of action is to return it to its glory days as a quarter miler, which sounds great to me. Wonder what the Bad Blood was all about. Blood as a family name is somewhat rare (Louis Chevrolet's sponsors at Indy in 1915 in the Cornelian-the first monocoque racer that I am aware of). I'm sure my mind is off a bit on the origins but in spite of that good luck. The Half Breed is around and in not too far off condition as yours ,but the half breed was running Chrysler Hemi power, I believe-I will keep my eyes open. Keep us posted as to your progress and intentions. There are guys on here that are interested in old Corvettes of every inclination-Jim

Might want to see if "Evan's Electric" (as a company) is still around, although without a city it would be difficult at best.

Found this in the Yellow pages:

Evans Electric Svc Inc
(559) 268-4704 531 Fulton St
Fresno, CA

Good luck,
Plasticman

This probably wont help, but there was a "cold blooded" vette in the vegas area in the 70's maybe earlier that was a 65 coupe. It was painted almost that same color. I was thinking maybe it was the replacement of the original builder of that 56. Both out west, both near identical colors, both drag only cars , almost the same name etc..

Could this possibly be it, is Dixon up in your neck of the woods? Been on CL forever.

Dig your gasser, some scoff at chopping up a C1 but man do they look mean.

Awesome car from back in the day, tough to beat the look of an old Corvette as a race car. Your dad was a smart man to hold on to it. It seems like a lot of people are on the hunt for their old race cars these days, after they were raced loads of them were sold and the owners lost contact, now 35-40 years or so later luck has to be on your side to find one.
I wish I had info or pics of this car, I sure hope someone else does.
Good Luck Great Car!

Great find, wish I had it. Post this thread on the drag race section of this forum. I just read a thread about a guy who found a 67 drag vette and guys from the old days remembered the car and gave him alot of info and leads.
Good luck
Russ

Nope that's not mine, although I believe it was very similar in it's race day.
Me and my Dad got it back in late 2006 and it had no frame under it at all.
As for my plans for it? You guys are right it's too far gone to try to put back anywhere close to original so it's gonna remain a Gasser nostalga car.
This is what I hope it turns out like:

to you for not ruining another old race car with a correct original restoration. Make sure you post pictures when it's done.

It would be great to role the orange car into a NCRS judging meet!!!
The Corvette "counter culture" is growing.
