Default Sermersheim front clip

Does anyone know what Sermersheim used to fill in between panels? My body shop wants to match it when they attach the gill panels. They think it's glue and not filler. I've call Sermersheim but only get a recording.

Finally, is there a slow curing panel adhesive that has the appearance of the original?

Thanks,

Bill

Use marine-tex. Available in most marine/boating supply stores and on-line. Its a very slow cure, roughly 1 hour to start kicking and 24 to set complete. It has zero shrinkage and similar consistancy to original. Comes in white and a dark/medium grey color. Best product by far, I have used it on numerous of Sermershiems noses and panels and of course on original gm glass. Its NOT cheap, but, neither was the nose! Contact me if you want more input and good luck!

It is just their adhesive, to slow down polyester cure times reduce the amount of MEKP being added according to the ambient temperature.

BTW, if they want slow curing material I think the 3M 8115 is about as good as it gets, you'll just have a little more gloss to the exposed adhesive than original.

I think that they use Axson #7 Black for assembly. I put them on it probably ten years ago.
