I may of found a really nice car in CA, for a project. The problem is I am in CT. Who to call? The car unfortunately does not run. Also a ton of boxes with this....

I shipped my '69 from CT to Illinois by FedEx and I was absolutely thrilled with the service.

it might be cheaper, and more enjoyable, for you to rent a truck and get it yourself. As a "big truck" driver,I wouldnt be surprised if the charged you between 3 and 4 dollars a mile.

Default Car transport

I bought a BMW 2002tii on the west coast and had it shipped by Marvin's Transportation for $950 last March. The driver stayed in touch while crossing the country and actually arrived a little earlier than he had estimated. It's the only one I ever used, so all I can say is that I was happy. Their number: 916-759-3614

I used Intercity for my 64 Coupe from LA to Cape Cod. Very satisfied and they were fully insured, Don't know what they do if it is not running and have multiple boxes, but I would highly recommend them and suggest that you give them a call.

Good luck

You're probably going to get quotes of around $2,500 from most of the mentioned "known" transporters - Horseless Carriage, Fedex, etc. Cost of diesel fuel has sharply raised prices from only 3 or 4 months ago. Also, manty of the companies do not allow the car to be stuffed with boxes and parts (mostly don't want to be accussed of stealing anything and tgakes too much time to "inventory")

My one experience was with Dependable Auto Shippers when I sent a vehicle (not a Corvette) across the USA.

The vehicle got there with no damage and actually arrived a day ahead of the estimate.

However, at the sending end, the user interface was awful. For no other reason than this, if I ever need to ship a vehicle again, I'll use some other service.

This is slightly off the subject, but you couldnt find a project car closer than 3000 miles away?

Shipping it completely across the country kinda makes the cheap price take a hit, no?

PS, FedEx charged me a little more than a buck a mile in April, 2007.
