2021 C1 of the Year Finalist - Modified
OH, OH, OH !!! WOW !!!!!! If I'da been there I would have been walking around with a big grin all day !! The old Can Am cars were the most awesome cars ever built. 494 and 504 BBC all aluminum with 2000# weight and 16" wide slicks. Man what I would give to do a few laps in one of those. I can only dream.
Thanks for sharing.

I worked in timing and scoring at the Glen in 70 and 71. I have some great memories from those years. Your pictures makes me wish I could have been there for this event. Thanks!!

What's the blue one with the external rocker arms?

Aside from one nice set of Minilites, it appears that for C2 racers, Torq-Thrusts rule.
What's up with Vic Edelbrock Jr's #614 Bob Bondurant Z06. I seem to recall seeing the car a few years ago with front bumpers but shaved turn signals. Did it get crunched, or did they just want to put back to an earlier appearance?
Bondurant drove the car from St. Louis to sponsoring dealer Shelly Washburn Chevrolet in Santa Barbara. It was one of the first four early-production Z06s that were dispatched to California in the early fall of 1962 for the Riverside Grand Prix. Famed local Chevy tuner Bob Joehnck blueprinted the engine, "swiss-cheese" drilled the frame and did other subtle modifications.
Thanks for all the pictures!

We missed getting there this year and enjoyed your pictures. It's always a great event between the downtown show and the track events. They always have a great collection of vintage racers and it's great to see and hear them up close. It's also our favorite track to drive. Good to see that the weather held out long enough to get everything in.
