So I have this riveted 15" wheel that was in my spare well for 35 years
How do i ID it?
It has a riveted center to outer ring, it is 15". It has four nubs for hubcap retention on the outer ring.
Wasn't there some sort of size and date stamping on these? Was in on the inside of the inner bead ring or the outside bead ring? Too much paint to see anything. No real rust though.
Not even sure if it is a Corvette wheel, this is the first time I have laid eyes on this wheel in over 20 years.
Thanks,
Doug

Date on the inner outer ring, should be welded (dog bone)not riveted

PS. From what I understand, the '62 Vette wheels (and maybe some others?) were welded but no dogbones.

I agree, if it's 15" X 5" riveted wheel with nubs, 55-56 sedan, 57's were 14"s. Vette wheels were welded, and the center was a tapered from the outside toward the ring that circles the lug nuts.

Roy, can you confirm that 55 wheels were riveted?

Check this thread Doug, good pics and even more fodder to add to the stew.
