Atlanta Light Bulbs.. not the brightest.
I ordered (14) 1817 bulbs along with others, and it took over FIVE weeks for them to actually ship. I call multiple times and get the "they are shipping today" bs. They FINALLY do ship, arrive, and instead of 14 1817s, I got 8. WTF. It says 14 shipped but I have only 8. Now do I get to wait 5 more weeks for the other 6?? All I want to do is finish the cluster/dash project, but lightbulbs are holding it up. Are they the ONLY people who sell these? HORRIBLE company to work with.

I called Atlanta Light Bulbs.. and the 1817 bulbs are discontinued. So instead of telling me, they just shorted the order and still charged me for the full order.
So now I have 8 1817 bulbs, am 6 short.. wth do I do now? Just use 1816 for the remaining 6?

Called today
I called them a short time ago. The 1817's are 5.2 watts and the 1816 4.2 watts. That may be your only option. Let me look into it a little further, maybe I can help.

$2 each
Will a 14mm (9/16") dia. bulb fit, instead of the 10mm (13/32") dia. of the 1816 style?
If so, there is the 1416 (same min. bayonet base) rated at 8 CP, vs. the 3 CP of the 1816.
Draws. .80 amp @ 12.8 volt, vs. .33 amp @ 13.0 volt of the 1816.
Length is 1.38" vs. 1.19" of the 1816.
Same life rating (1000 hours).

Are these made in China??
There was some talk awhile back on either here or the NCRS site about getting the cluster bulbs made here in the U.S. instead of the China ones. Several on the thread mentioned having problems with the China bulbs lasting. Does anyone remember the supplier for the U.S. bulbs? Thanks

Has anyone found an led bulb that fits and is brighter than an 1816?
I have had a full compliment of 1817s in my dash for 3 or 4 years now, and I dread the day that I need to replace one. They really light up the cluster. I have had other owners at car shows ask me how I did that - it's that noticable.

I went to an electrical supply house and prdered the 1817 bulbs a while ago ,I dont know where they ordered them from but I did get them they were around 2 buck apiece .I know they had to special order them, maybe you should try that route in your town, they may be able to get them for you, as when I got them they had already been discontinued . Hope this helps Jeff
