Default 1956 Corvette and Daytona Jam Handy Films

I came across the Jam Handy filmstrips for the 1956 Corvette Announcement and the 1956 Daytona Speedweek. I digitized them and added them to my website.

The 1956 Corvette movie is a bit amusing. Aimed at Chevrolet salesmen, the film basically says "we heard you." "We added windows...We made the top easier to put up... Etc." The movie is soundless, so I added some background music. About 6 minutes, 20MB.

The 1956 Daytona Speedweek film puts the happy face on Chevrolet's performance at Daytona. Each car manufacturer basically said that there cars kicked butt. And this Chevrolet's version. The movie lasts about 16 minutes, and is a 30MB download. The Corvette material is roughly 9 minutes into the movie, and lasts for several minutes.

Both movies are here, with my other Jam Handy Movies:

Great stuff, Russ, thanks. Interesting how the film repeatedly refers to the 56 as the "second series Corvette." Applying the true math, the C7s are already here.

I noticed the repeated references to the "second series Corvette" as well. I wonder when the "C1, C2, etc" terminology took over. The "C" terminology makes for a simple reference point, but I don't understand why we have a C6. The C5s and C6s look the same to me.
