Default WINDOW GLASS 67 coupe

Can someone tell me what the relationship of the date of the glass in 1967 car is in relationship to date of mfg of car? Have a 1967 with glass code on side window of TA with M51. Car was built in april 67. Thanks

A LOF glass code of TA most likely indicates August 1966. It could also be August 1979, but this is probably not likely.

Typically glass is dated 2-4 months prior to car build, although NCRS Judging accepts glass 12 months prior to car build as acceptable.

M51 indicates tempered, non-tinted glass.

Any other markings/logos?

XZ = February 1967
IA = June 1966
CA = November 1966

You will find that glass does not correspond to the time built rules too well. There seems to be some large varances. It is not unusual to have one or more window way out of line, thus the more liberal rules at NCRS. This is especially true for some late 67 cars. I have a coupe that has an guaranteed original rear window that is more than a year out.
