Default What is the best black paint for engine brackets?

I want to repaint the various brackets, fan blades, etc. in the engine compartment once I remove my 67's engine. Is there a preferred brand of gloss black for the correct look as well as durability?

I don't think I'll be repainting any engine compartment fiberglass, but you never know. So, what is the preferred paint brand and gloss level for the 'glass?

Barry,
The brand and number rang a bell, and it turns out I have a can in the garage from when i refinished my rocker panels a few months ago.

Thanks, Louie

Louie,
I had a local Corvette restorer recommend to me to powder coat the fan blade because of the abuse it takes. Best thing I ever did!

Hmmm, now there's a thought. The fan blades do look beaten up and I'd never thought of getting them powder coated. I'll definitely look into it. Thanks, Rick!

Powder coating is the way to go, it gives a great finish in a various gloss finishes, from matt to full gloss, it's very durable, tougher than most paint, long lasting & so simple, just drop it off & pick it up a week later.
I've been getting loads of stuff power coated for 30yrs, including motorcycle frames, car rims & even my entire motorcycle trailer.
