Default 1956 Grille Tooth Sequence

I have a 1956 Corvette and a lot of individual mixed up grille teeth (from who knows what years) and want to use the correct configuration. They seem to have a code (no part number) on the inner backside that corresponds to the length/shape. I see "C" assume center. Also "1", "2', "4", "5", "6" but do not see any "3"s. The repos only describe 5 different teeth so I am really getting confused. Any one know what is the correct sequence for assembling on bar? Thanks for any help.

According to Noland's book, C is center. From there, they're numbered higher as you get to the outside. The 1 teeth are next to the C teeth, the 6s are on the outside. 7 different teeth, C, and 1-6, 6 of them used twice.
I hope that made some sense.

That diagram helps explain my confusion. I did find a "3706425" on some marked "2" and they are the same physical dimensions as the ones with a "1". I assume the "1" and "2"s (missed marked?) are interchangeable in the first 6 positions either side of the center. Thanks for the input.

Yes I recall that some of mine were marked #1 & #2 and were the same size. The diagram came from Noland's book and I recall I was a bit confused too. Glad it helped......Rich
