C2 Brake Booster vs Valve Cover
Hi guys, newguy here, been hanging out on the C5 Forum for a while. Impressed with the knowledge on this forum.
I have a 66 396 NOM that I want to convert to power brakes.
Do I have to get the LH valve cover with the dent in the bottom rear first or will the booster clear until I can find one?
Also, I already have the 67 dual chamber MC. Will that work w/pb or is it a different bore size?
Any tips on where to get the pb conversion and/or the valve cover? TIA.

Yes, you'll need the valve cover with the angled depression stamped at the rear corner before you install the booster.
The '67 manual master cylinder will work fine (if it's casting #5455509 and stamped "DC" at the front); '67 was the only year where both manual and power brakes used the same master cylinder. Make sure you specify a '67 booster, so it comes with the "long" booster-to-master cylinder pushrod; boosters for all other years use the "short" pushrod.

Thanks for the info, John. That was just what I needed to know.
I know of several sources for the booster. Anyone know a good source for the valve cover?

Paragon #1815, $200.00; it has the indentation, the drippers and the welded spark plug wire bracket at the rear. The "imported" ones are cheaper, but don't have the plug wire support bracket.
