Body off resto - what would you do?
I'm doing a complete body off restoration on my 67. The question came up over the weekend about the gauge cluster.
The car has roughly 70K original miles on it. It has been in the family since 1973, and will be in the family until I'm gone (only 35 years old).
My question is around the odometer. I'm inclined to leave it the way it is and continue building up miles. The other choice would be to reset it to zero.
Thoughts?

I like the idea of leaving it as is, since it's been in your family so long and will stay there. Keep it as is and just continue to add to it and enjoy it.
It will also serve as reminder as how long you've had it and how many actual miles your family has put on her over the years.

70,000 original miles on a 67 is certainly worthy of maintaining. I would keep the odometer intact and maintain the original mileage for sure.

I had mine zero'd out when it was rebuilt. But, if I were doing it over I believe I would now leave it on the original mileage.

i dont want to hijack this thread but i have a similar question...
I have had my car since 1974 and drove it for awhile and parked it in 78 with 36 thousand miles...moved the car from house to house and family member and then i restored my car and put in a new speedo...should I put the original back in or keep it as is...

Thanks! Given all of the positive responses plus my natural bent towards keeping it as is, I'm going to do just that. Thanks guys for confirming what I wanted to do.
Here's the latest picture on the car. The rolling chassis is starting to come together.
