Some seat time in the 60 today
We had a bit of a break in the weather today, so we finally got the 60 out for a stretch after getting alot of the detailing and tune up work done on her.
She's looking good, so I figured I post a few updated pics.
Got most of the engine compartment all detailed up, correct carb has been rebuilt and installed, just need to get the heater hoses replaced with the correct repros.
Even after 10 years, the restoration on the paint and interior still look great.
I got a little video of it at idle too.
Another really interesting item on this car is the Sears White Walls. Yeah, they're old, but how long do you think its been since Sears sold wide whites like these?

The motor is not stock I take it....it has a lumpier idle than my dual-quad, solid lifter 270HP...

Frank, we've only gotten about 10 miles total on this car since we bought it a few months ago. And it sat for almost 7 years before that and it had a restoration before that with only about 400 miles on her since. She wasn't driven much at all, and I don't know what was done on the motor rebuild during the restoration. It definitely has a nice lump to it, but its a base motor car, intake, and carb.

Yeah, and I bet its only had 500 total in about 10-12 years. The previous owner had a fuel leak in the old tank after the restoration, and once he pulled it out, he never got back to fixing it and getting it back on the road. So she sat and collected cob webs in his garage.
We are looking forward to racking up the miles this summer.

We're doing a black and silver cove 56, red interior, and I really dig that combo on the C1's too.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your oil fill cap look like?
Yeah, this car has an aftermarket radio in it, but we're going to stick the original Wonderbar back in her soon.

Thanks bud. It was great catching up today. How much detailing did you get done on the truck today?
Good luck next weekend at the Auto Fair. Let me know how it goes.

My cap is chrome with the recessed lines in it. Think it says oil. Its a stock piece for something, not sure whats supposed to be on it. My car is becoming a 2x4 car at the moment, so it used to look more like yours...

Super looking car, but I would get those old tires off ASAP unless you are planning on keeping it under 25 mph. In the old days tires didn't have time warranty, now it's 5 or 6 years from date of mfg due to ozone related deterioration. Old tires can and will come apart on you even though they look like new on the outside. I've had two separate age related failures; the worse one took out part of the wheel well.
