Default Install Shroud/radiator in 67 BB A/C

Did a search and came up empty, trying to install new radiator and fan shroud in 67 427/390 AC coupe. Managed to get shroud in first like a SB, but cannot overcome getting shroud over the lower hose connection elbow on bottom right of radiator.

Engine is in the car, doesn't seem that radiator goes in first, plus I will come unglued if I have to wedge the shroud out.

Any tips here would be greatly appreciated!

Try sticking the radiator in the shroud and putting them in at the same time.

Yup, that's the way it's done. It's a real PITA. Especially working by oneself. You will scratch up your purdy shroud.

After taking off alternator and upper condenser hose, it is in.

Install both at the same time. No hood and no water pump too. I have done alone, but helps to have two people. Hard not to scratch things up if you have all painted.

A trick to remember is to cut some cardboard and insert on each side of the radiator. It prevents damage to the core and allows it to slide across other items as you install the radiator.

Once the radiator is in, remove the cardboard.

I tape cardboard over the front and back of the rad and secure with painters tape. You can remove it easily once the radiator and shroud are in place. It's a back breaker to do without a partner, but I've done it a few times. It's far worse with a big block (i.e., copper/brass) radiatior. The aluminum radiators are relatively light.
