1961 Carpet Install Help?
I finally got around to working on the interior to my 61. I pulled the seats, cleaned out the fiberglass on the floor and installed some underlayment. When I went to install the Al Knoch carpet I found myself a bit confused. The driver and passenger main pieces are fairly obvious but I can't seem to figure out exactly where each of the other pieces go. Can someone please take a look at the photos below and give me an idea of where each piece fits and in what order they should be installed?

Any other suggestions on putting these pieces in would be welcomed as well. I'll post pictures once completed. Thanks!

There are three other pieces and they are all for the hump.
They should be pretty self explanatory.
The piece over the rear of the hump by the seat divider goes in first.
The piece behind the console goes in second (at least I put it in second).
The piece around the console may need some trimming ,and will need to be cutout for your shifter and ashtray.

How does the piece go in around the console? The cutout doesn't have a slit on it to let it fit around the console and I think the last time I checked the console goes all the way down to the transmission hump so I can't slide it underneath. Do I have to cut a slit in it to fit around the console?

Yes, you cut the bridge piece at the front so it will go around the console. Cut it in the middle.

Cut that piece that fits up to the base of the console - carefully! Several trimming cuts to get a great fit are far better than ruining the piece. I speak from experience as I almost cut too much off of mine!
