Winter Garden, FL Car Show
Have to say that the car show in the little town near me has grown up...it starts at 6:30pm every 3rd Saturday. I arrived at 4:15pm and got the last shady parking spot. I'd say 70 cars, nice ones at that showed up. I parked behind a pristine Silver '63 SWC which got a ton of attention. Lots of prizes too along with merchant support.
The best part was leaving and coming home the 5 miles or so down Rt 50. I was beside a '67 (I believe) Cougar Eliminator, a '72 Nova, behind a '67 Camaro and there was a '63 Fairlane behind me. Other old cars too but only saw their lights. We weren't drag racing but let's just say nobody was babying their cars.
I couldn't help turning my head back and forth and feeling like I'd been transported back 40 years!!
Some little ricer with the park bench trunk wing and fart pipe got in amongst us for 2-3 miles. Guy and his pasenger stared straight ahead and never varied their speed. Guess he wasn't feeling too 'fast and furious' in that crowd of Detroit iron.
Got a real kick out of that in spite of the devilishly hot and humid weather...

Frank,
Sounds like a fun show (but a tad farther than I want to go in this heat - and this is from a guy who likes heat!).
Thermometer reads 99 at the moment (highest I have ever seen here).
Thanks again for the intro to Mike on Friday.

Hotter 'n heck at this show. Strange but the fella with the nice '63 SWC apparently didn't know the sun's reflection off the chrome air cleaner could blister the paint on his hood. I convinced him to put a towel over his air cleaner after I had him put his hand on the hood where the reflection hit. He became a believer real quick.
