Default Grundy car insurance

I'm thinking of using Grundy. Any comments or recommendations?

I think Grundy uses AIG to back their policies. I did not agree with the bail out and bonus's at AIG and therefore am using Hagerty. Just my 2 cents worth.

I have Grundy and the price is very reasonable. Have not needed them for a claim so I can't tell you what the service is like.

Default Insurance

I use Grundy as my agent, and my policy is with Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company. $80K agreed value coverage with $500K liability instead of the standard $100K. $695.

I just got a policy, $89,000, for $511.70. My broker found these folks for me. Since my company owns my car I was not able to use the usual suspects, all of whom were a couple of hundred higher anyway. Mine was written through Condon and Skelly out of Maple Shade NJ (condonskelly.com). As for how they are with claims, hopefully I will never know. I beleive the policy was actually underwritten by MetLife.

I use Grundy on all my Corvettes. Hagerty's price for "modified" cars is twice what their price is for stock. I used Hagerty for my restored Corvettes, but after they tried to double my rate for my resto-mods, I switched to Grundy. $80K policy is about $500.

For the past 20 years I've used American Collectors Insurance. You can call 1-800-360-2277 or e-mail: info@americancollectors.com

Very satisfied with the rates, can't tell you about the claim service - never had a claim thank you very much!!!

I use Grundy. Have had one claim, deep scratch in the rear quarter from a parking lot encounter. Called Grundy, was assigned an adjuster, was told to pick a shop of my choice, got an estimeate, faxed to adjuster, received a check before I took it to the shop. No hassles, no problems, good service!!!

Cheers
Steve

Grundy uses Chubb as their underwriter, which is a highly rated company, with no connection to AIG.

We've used Grundy for years with great coverage and good service.

I've used Grundy for a number of years now. No complaints, but then I haven't had to file a claim. I'm paying 6 1/4% of agreed coverage value. I like the lack of mileage restrictions.

Default Insurance

I have used American Collector for about 15 years. No claims so no problem. American is now offering a provision on their policy to allow underage drivers of 5 plus years experience with clean records to be covered under the policy. My soon to be 21 year old son can now drive the 70 SS Chevelle we are building as well as the vettes on the policy. Something to consider. Jerry

Do they write an "agreed value" policy or a "stated value" policy? BIG difference.

Thanks everyone for your input. It sounds like Grundy is a good choice for insurance.

yup, my experience as well, I had used Haggerty before and only once used them to pick up a car with failed brakes..worked out no problems, but when I went to insure the '37 Ford with them they want $1500 ($90k agreed price), they cited the paint job as why, Gundry was 1/2 that and I moved all my car insurance over to them....

'37 Ford
