Default My Barn Find ...... named Bubba

I've waited a while to start this thread .....Here It goes . Earlier in the year I answered an ad for an old 1967 roadster bracket racer. This poor 67 was rode hard...... and never put to bed! After allot of back and forth talk we agreed to a price.... Buying sight un- seen is an absolute.... no no for me........usually. But the great price coupled with the photos & discussion. I bought it. Understanding this car needed some work ..and was eventually planning a Resto rod SRIII frame project. I had the car shipped and was pleased with the overall inspection. Then I started pealing back the layers of the onion. Now Ive seen some Interesting repairs & modifications over the years, But wasn't prepared for Bubba's track side engineering. From the outside Stock body all bumpers , Late St. Louis Vin ,BB car. Stay tuned ...It gets good..............

I like this car! Looks like you bought a lot of good race car parts. Take it to the track and see what it will do. What's the interior like?

I like it! How fast was it?

Keep us up to date on what you're going to be selling off. Lots of good stuff there!

Looks like it was from Tx??

If you bought it cheap I wouldn't spend too much making it something it clearly isn't. Looks like a neat car to just take it out, hammer it and enjoy it

Default Wiring harness ordered ......Heater box ???? Oh My Bubba

Once I was under the dash .. I knew what needed to be done. One look at the wiring made my face go pale. Ive seen corvettes burn to the ground for less than this.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with a solid axle in a C2.

Good God man, do not F this car up restoring it. If it is not your thing, resell it. I doubt it is historic, seeing the coil overs in the rear. It may have been raced all its life, but the modern modifications take from that. I know a guy that would buy this car in a flash.

PS. Suggestion, do not post pictures at the end of a sentence or several in a row.
End sentence. Double scroll (enter button) between each picture or sentence.

Keep it in it's present configuration. Make it roadworthy/reliable and drive it.

Anybody that has ever felt fear for his life while lighting up the rear tires in a C2 would really enjoy the same burn out with a solid rear axle. A buddy with an old Shelby 427 showed me the advantage years ago. Independant rears have advantages but going straight while smoking tires has never been a strong point. Have fun with it.

Default No Restoration

Thanks for the tip VetRod62. Never intended to restore it. No NCRS book needed here. SRIII frame candidate in the future. Needs Wire harness, F/River Column, Restore gauge cluster. Some fiberglass repairs (stress cracks). Would like to keep the cage.... here's an example of what Im going for .......

Really neat car. Glad they didn't bubba the body. It's not mini tubbed is it? Hope not. The SRIII would make a good swap "IF" you change it?
