Tight indeed
Someone went to a lot of trouble to put a 348/409 into a C-1. With all that weight on the nose, it must be a handful to drive. Jerry

i've got 55 belair with a 348, it's mounted about 2" further forward than the stock mount location, and has cast iron intake and exhaust manifolds. it drives great! it replaced a small block with headers and alum. intake that was mounted further back. i can't really tell the difference in the way it handles. i doubt the vette would drive all that bad.

Here it is, the 348/409 that all those strokes said you could get in a corvette, in the flesh. This is fitting, a truck motor in a car with a truck front end, does it get any better than that?????

In about 1968ish my uncle bought a thieft recovered 63 vert. Only the engine and trans were missing. He slipped a 409 in it (well not really slipped, it was a lot of work) 4 speed. Then painted it gold with black SS type strips. I've always wondered what happened to that car. Any Omaha Nebraska peeps out there know about this car?
