66 dash lights
My dash lights are extremely dim even with the light switch turned up as high as it will go. Could this be a bad switch or is this normal? Turning the switch does adjust the brightness just not much.

it's normal - installing all new bulbs will probably make it look brighter for a little while - a few months. as the bulbs age it will look like it does now.
there are 3 ways to brighten the cluster. clean/refinsh the reflective surface of the inside of cluster, install brighter bulbs , or both.
I opted for both six or seven years ago, and my cluster is still bright

I will be redoing my gauge cluster very soon and eliminating the same issue you have. I purchased bulbs from Atlanta Light Bulbs, Inc. 2109 Mountain Ind. Blvd. Tucker GA. I don't have the phone number, but here is the part number. Bulb #1817, 13V, 5.2watt. They are not cheap, $2.30 ea. I gathered all this info from a previous post here on the forum. Give a search under the basic subject. Dennis

Just watch out for over-taxing the 4 amp fuse in the panel lamp circuit. And if you have factory A/C you get 2 more .33 amp bulbs from the factory to add to your current draw.

I used the 1817 bulbs when I did my cluster, and I'm very happy with my dash lights. I did up my fuse size to a 5 amp. Going from 1816 to 1817 bulbs only adds about .60 of a amp extra draw. Don't forget, the turn signals can stay 1816. I have had mine for over a year, with no blown fuses, or problems.
